About
Shawn Parmley,
Designer, Yogini, Wife, and Mother of Three. For the last 20 years I have provided various design services after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelors degree in Interior Design. My first design career was in Aircraft Interiors and Refurbishment at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska, since then I have served as a residential designer with a specialty in green design. Currently, I am a designer for Charles Thomas Homes (high performance, indoor air quality certfified) and also do independent interior design and consulting. I am a LEED AP ID+C (LEED Accredited Interior Design and Construction), REGREEN trained, and NCIDQ certified (National Council for Interior Design Qualifications). It is my passion to design in a way that creates healthy residential spaces!
ZNETH House Project
In 2011 I provided Interior Design Services for the ZNETH (Zero Net Energy Test House) House Project; a collaboration between the students and teachers of the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Architectural Engineering programs. The overall goal with the project was to create a healthy, energy efficient living space with use of natural and recycled materials, creating a unique challenge when it came to selecting finishes. The finished house included recycled glass countertops, bamboo and cork flooring, reclaimed gym floor from a junior high school, as well as unused finishes from other projects.
